NGT directs states to shut distilleries sans PESO nodThe National Green Tribunal has directed all states to shut down distilleries and sugar mills manufacturing, storing and transporting ethanol, without obtaining permission from the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO). Madhya Pradesh cracks whip, cancels solar PPAs signed with Canadian firm’s India unit Sky Power SolarMadhya Pradesh Power Management Company (MPPMC), the holding company of all the electricity distribution companies of the state, has cancelled two 50-MW power purchase agreements (PPAs) it had signed with the Indian unit of Canada-based Sky Power Solar in 2015. Tariff for wind energy comes down in KarnatakaRate reduced from ₹4.50 per unit to ₹3.74 per unit After revising solar tariffs, the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has ordered a mid-term revision of tariff for wind energy. The Commission has revised tariff for wind power projects to ₹3.74 per unit, which will be in force till March 31, 2018. This is a reduction from the ₹4.50 per unit fixed in February 2015. NTPC commissions 250MW solar project in Madhya PradeshIndia’s largest utility NTPC has commissioned the 250MW Mandsaur solar project in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, according to a Bombay Stock Exchange filing.
