MP's RESCO tender attracts over 31 bidders for 35 MW solar rooftop

A tender floated by Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (MPUVNL) for 35 MW of solar rooftop power attracted 31 bidders, and received the country's lowest tariff quote of Rs 1.58 per unit. 

"Madhya Pradesh's RESCO tender attracted 31 international and domestic bidders, who oversubscribed its 35+ MWp rooftop tender capacity by more than 630 per cent," an MPUVNL statement said.

Merino Group inaugurates Haryana's first open access solar plant

 Merino Panel Products Ltd. (MPPL) on Tuesday announced the launch of a 5.5 MegaWatt captive open access solar power plant in Hisar.

Plan afoot to install floating solar panels in dams in Maharashtra

 A state-run agency in Maharashtra has come up with a plan to install solar panels in the backwater of two dams to generate electricity.

Wastewater from textile mills could power batteries, says study

A sapphire-coloured dye -- a common industrial pollutant from textile mills -- could be used to build rechargeable batteries for wind farms and solar homes to store electricity, a study has found. Power ministry directs regulator to pass on changes in duties to consumer tariffs

The committee would look into various issues with a view to resolve them and maximise the efficiency of investment including changes required to be made in the fuel allocation policy and regulatory framework.
In a rare move, the government has issued a direction to power regulator Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) to allow changes in any central or state government duties to be passed in electricity tariffs to consumers post bidding.
