BSES energises 1,000 solar rooftop connections, number likely to cross 2,000 mark by year end

Power discom BSES has brought over 1,000 consumers including the Lotus Temple and Maulana Azad Medical college in the list of rooftop solar connections in the city, a company spokesperson said here. The total load of over 40 MW has been energised so far with 1,000 rooftop connections, he said.

Rs 1500-crore solar plant plan for Banka, Bihar

The State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) on Tuesday okayed a proposal to establish a Rs 1,500 crore solar power plant in Banka district and a Rs 148 crore biomass power plant in West Champaran.

Mytrah Energy wins PPA bid for 300 MW wind power unit in Tamil Nadu

Power utility’s first solar power plant goes live in Maharashtra

The state power distribution utility made a new beginning on Sunday after successfully linking its solar energy plant at Wavi in Sinnar taluka to the electricity grid.

Energy Efficiency Services Ltd. to facilitate implementation of 5 lakh solar water pumping systems in ISA member countries

Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), a joint venture of PSUs under the Ministry of Power, has been selected by the International Solar Alliance (ISA) to facilitate implementation of 5,00,000 Solar Water Pumping Systems.

Maharashtra to get 57,000 solar farm pumps: Energy minister Bawankule

Energy minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced on Friday that the state would get 57,000 new solar farm pumps in the coming months. At present 7,500 such pumps have been installed in the state.

Addressing a press conference, the minister said, “We got 7,000 solar pumps from the Union government under Atal Saur Krishi Yojana on Thursday. In the coming days, the state government will purchase another 50,000 pumps. Our aim is to provide solar pumps to all 45 lakh farmers.”

Coal India to set up methanol plant, eyes 6.76 LT output per annum

Canadian pension fund Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) has agreed to acquire a 40% stake in power producer CLP India Pvt. Ltd for Rs 2,640 crore ($365 million) in cash.
