Bangkok meet fails to finalize draft on climate change rules

An international meeting in Bangkok fell short of its aim of completing fruitful preparations to help an agreement be reached in December on guidelines for implementing the 2015 Paris climate change agreement. Electric vehicles, green automobiles to be exempted from permit requirements

The government has decided to keep electric vehicles and automobiles running on alternative fuels out of the ambit of permit requirements in order to boost public interest in them. Vehicles using electricity or, ethanol, biodiesel, CNG, methanol and biofuel need not apply for permits, said Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari. Demand for eco-friendly vehicles can be created by mandating cab aggregators like Ola and Uber to induct a certain percentage of such vehicles in their fleet.

Vikram Solar commissions 10-MW project for ONGC in Gujarat

Vikram Solar, Kolkata-based solar energy company, today announced it has commissioned a 10 Megawatt (MW) solar power project for ONGC in Gujarat. The solar project was inaugurated by ONGC Chairman and Managing Director Shashi Shanker.

Pepsi to install plastic crushing machines across Maharashta

Maharashtra Discom issues EOI for solar manufacturing plant

Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (Mahagenco) has invited expressions of interest (EOI) for setting up a solar manufacturing plant in the Indian state, using any type of cells and modules.
