REIL, EESL bag big chunk of orders for EV charging stations

State-owned Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Ltd (REIL) and Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) have bagged a significant chunk of orders for setting up more than 2,500 e-vehicle charging stations in about 90 cities across the country. Procter & Gamble India sets up Rs 200-crore fund focused on climate

Consumer goods major Procter & Gamble (P&G) India on Thursday said it had set up a Rs 200-crore fund that would partner and invest in companies that provided environmentally sustainable solutions. The new fund is in addition to its innovation sourcing fund that the company, the local unit of the world's largest consumer goods firm P&G, had launched last year. Tata Power seeks global investors for renewable energy

India's Tata Power Company Ltd, the power generation arm of the salt-to-software Tata group, wants to sell a stake in its renewable energy portfolio to global investors, its chief executive Praveer Sinha told Reuters. Toshiba, Kerala govt sign EOI for making lithium-ion batteries for e-vehicles

The Toshiba group on Thursday signed an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the Kerala government for technology transfer and manufacturing lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles. The EOI was signed at the Kerala State Investment Promotion Seminar organised here which saw the participation of a high-level delegation of the Kerala government led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. EESL plans to issue tender for e-luxury cars in January

ADB approves $250 mn loan to EESL to expand energy efficiency investments

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Wednesday said it has approved a loan of $250 million (about Rs 1,775 crore) as part of an assistance package to EESL to expand energy efficiency investments in India. Goa to buy solar power from NTPC for next three years

The cabinet on Wednesday approved a proposal for extending the power purchase agreement executed with M/s NTPC Vidyut Vypar Nigam Ltd (NVVNL) for purchase of solar power by three years. Power minister Nilesh Cabral said that a lower rate of Rs 5.5 per unit has been negotiated as against the earlier Rs 7.99 per unit. Tighter CAFE norms to electrify govt's EV push

The government is looking to tighten the corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) norms, in a bid to push automakers to incrementally increase production of electric vehicles by 2-3% every year.
