Hyundai to enhance special services for Kona EVHyundai Motor India Ltd has announced the enhancement of special services for the Kona EV to offer the customers convenience at all touchpoints. The automaker is offering multiple EV charging options to the buyers of the electric SUV. In a release, the South Korean auto major said, it is providing AC 7.2 KW charger to all customers along with the car to ensure fast charging. M3M to develop smart city on 165-acre land it bought from SaharaReal estate firm M3M India Pvt Ltd said on Tuesday it will develop a smart city on a large land parcel in National Capital Region (NCR) it had bought from Sahara Group in 2014, for ₹1211 crore. Of the 185 acres M3M had bought from Sahara, the township will come up on 165 acres. It will be a mixed-use development with both residential and commercial office and retail components. Corporate, PE investments in EV start-ups grow 170% in 2019 to $397 mnDriven by the belief that the next wave of disruption for India’s automobile industry will be led by electric vehicles (EVs), corporate and private equity (PE) investors seem to be increasing their bets on start-ups working in this space. Coal-based power's market share at decade low, green energy nearly doublesThe market share of coal-fired power plants to total generation in the country has slumped to a decade low as renewable power gains currency, a study showed. A report by US-based think tank, Institute for Energy Economics & Financial Analysis (IEEFA) says while coal-fired power generation is on track to represent 71.8 per cent of total generation (54.5 per cent of capacity) in 2019-20, this is a decade low market share. Coimbatore civic body to open its second solar power plantAlmost 10 months after the solar power plant at Ukkadam started generating power, the city corporation is all set to inaugurate its second solar power plant at Kavundampalayam. MSEDCL installs only 12,500 of 1 lakh solar pumps targeted by March 2020Former energy minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule had given a target to MSEDCL (Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited) of installing one lakh solar farm pumps by March 2020 under Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Yojana (MSKY). So far, it has been able to install only 12,500 pumps. In view of the target for the financial year, the MSEDCL should have installed over 8,334 pumps a month and in the eight months that have passed, over 66,000 pumps should have been installed.
