India has successfully completed the phasing out of Hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC)-141b, used by foam manufacturing companies and one of the most potent ozone-depleting chemicals, the Union Environment Ministry said on Wednesday. Ozone occurs naturally in small amounts in the upper atmosphere of the earth. EQT, Temasek launch $500 mn renewable energy platform

European alternative asset manager EQT and Singapore’s state investment firm Temasek Holdings Pte. on Wednesday announced that they have jointly set up O2 Power, a $500-million renewable energy platform in India. Efforts to reduce levels of one potent greenhouse gas appear to be failing, according to a study. Scientists had expected to find a dramatic reduction in levels of the hydrofluorocarbon HFC-23 in the atmosphere after India and China, two of the main sources, reported in 2017 that they had almost completely eliminated emissions. Azure Power to invest $3.7 billion to set up 4 GW capacity by 2024-25

Solar power producer, Azure Power, is planning to invest about $3.7 billion by the end of financial year 2024-25, the company said in an investor briefing.
