Gujarat: Last day to apply for solar rooftops is March 15

The state government has extended the last date of filing applications for rooftop solar panels till March 15. Earlier, the last date for filing applications was February 28. The government has allocated Rs 912 crore for the year 2020-21 for the solar rooftop project. The budget in the year 2019-2020 was Rs.610-crore. Chief minister Vijay Rupani said that Gujarat has received 1.06 lakh rooftop solar panel applications during the last five months, since the scheme was implemented from August 25, 2019. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), the state-owned oil marketing company, has launched its first electric vehicle charging facility. The first of its kind facility is located in the Kareilbag locality of Vadodara, Gujarat. RRTS to be linked with electric bus routes in push to the last-mile connectivity

Environment ministry releases draft version of battery waste management rules

India’s Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has made available the draft version of Battery Waste Management Rules, 2020 for comment. MNRE cancels proposal for 500 MW solar park project in Tamil Nadu

In a major setback to Tangedco and the Tamil Nadu government, the Union ministry for renewable power (MNRE) has cancelled the proposal for a solar park at Kadaladi in Ramanathapuram district. The decision was made at a meeting convened by the MNRE secretary recently to assess the performance of solar parks. Solar tariff drops to Rs 2.5 per unit in latest SECI auction

The latest reverse auction for 1,200 MW of solar capacity, conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), will see the tariff drop to Rs 2.5 per unit. Though this is higher than the all-time low rate of Rs 2.44/unit, it is much lower than Rs 2.71/unit in the last auction during October, 2019. Global emerging market fund Actis has acquired solar energy assets of 600 megawatt capacity from Acme Cleantech Solutions in a deal worth Rs 3,000 crore, said two people aware of the development. Kerala Commission Approves Rs 2.83/kWh Tariff for 200 MW Wind Power

In its latest order, the Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission (KSERC) has approved the Power Supply Agreement (PSA) between the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) and the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for the procurement of 200 MW wind power at a tariff of Rs 2.83/kWh.
