SECI tenders 5 GW of grid-connected renewable projects with storage option

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has invited bids for round-the-clock (RTC) supply of 5 GW power from grid-connected renewable energy projects, complemented with coal-fired thermal power, if needed, to ensure at least 80% availability on annual basis. The projects shall be awarded through e-bidding followed by reverse auction. RE power may include solar, wind, small hydro, or a combination thereof, with or without energy storage system (ESS). BHEL wins order for supply of electric buses to Uttar Pradesh

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), the country’s largest power equipment manufacturer, today announced it has won an order for supply of electric buses along with charging infrastructure in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. The order was placed on BHEL by Urban Transport Directorate (UTD) in Lucknow. Himachal Pradesh to get two green national highways

Two green national highways to be constructed with the help of the World Bank will cut short distances between four districts of Hamirpur, Mandi, Shimla and Sirmour in Himachal Pradesh. Power distribution companies in Andhra Pradesh have cleared all dues of renewable energy developers in accordance with a court directive, and scaled down the practice of reducing purchase of green power, bringing relief to the sector that has been under immense pressure in the state. The government on Saturday hiked excise duty on petrol and diesel by a steep Rs 3 per litre each to garner about Rs 39,000 crore additional revenue as it repeated its 2014-15 act of not passing on gains arising from slump in international oil prices.
