Gurugram: 6MW solar power boost to grid so far in 2017

Haryana renewable energy department has added 6 MW of solar energy to its supply in Gurgaon in a year, taking total generation across the city to 20 MW, officials told TOI.

Officials said they have 154 new installations to make till November this year. As of now, there are 254 solar installations in the city, along with 86 bi-directional meters, they said.

Waste disposal: NGT issues warrants agst 12 Agra civic bodies

The National Green Tribunal on Monday issued bailable warrants against 12 civic bodies in Agra after they failed to appear before it in response to a plea alleging open burning of trash and poor municipal solid waste system in the city. Telangana set to generate 5,000 Megawatt solar power by 2019

Cabinet may consider Rs 16,709 crore hydropower policy this month

The Union Cabinet may take up for approval this month the hydro-power policy which aims to provide Rs 16,709 crore support for stalled 40 hydel projects, entailing 11,639 MW capacity, and to classify all such ventures as renewable energy.

Major correction to satellite data shows 140% faster warming since 1998

Researchers from Remote Sensing Systems (RSS), based in California, have released a substantially revised version of their lower tropospheric temperature record.
