Waste-to-energy plants to come up in 63 Urban Local bodies

Works on setting up eco-friendly waste-to-energy plants in 10 major cities of AP has picked up pace. These plants will cover 63 urban local bodies and process about 4,400 metric tonnes of solid waste a day.

Railways launches first DEMU train with solar-powered coaches

The railways today launched its first solar-powered local train here with a battery bank facility which ensures sufficient power even in the absence of sunlight.

Half of 1,396-MW rooftop solar capacity added in FY17

India had a rooftop solar capacity of 1,396 MW at the end March 2017, of which almost half was added in the previous financial year, according to a research report.

Hindustan Power to set up 15 solar power projects in Japan of 150 MW
