South Mumbai college opts for 150-panel solar setup to cut its power bill by Rs 64,000 per month

A south Mumbai college has adopted solar energy on such a large scale that it will help them wipe out their carbon footprint over the next 25 years. Abu Dhabi Investment Authority to invest in NIIF’s Master Fund in areas such as energy, transportation, housing, water, waste management

The National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) of India on Monday said it had signed an investment agreement worth $1 billion with a wholly owned unit of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA).

Wind power capacity addition put on fast track, 4,500 MW up for auction

The government is planning to auction 4,500 MW wind projects in the next four months to upscale the wind capacity addition in the country, sources say.

"An additional bid of 1,500 MW wind projects will be rolled out in October. There will be two more wind bids of the same capacity in December this year and February next year," a government official aware of the developments told ET.

100 villages to get LED streetlights; to help reduce power bill by half

The streets of villages located around Greater Hyderabad and other towns in Telangana will become more environment-friendly. The state government has selected about 100 villages where conventional bulbs and tube lights would be replaced with LED bulbs soon. In all, there are 8,640 gram panchayats in Telangana which put together ran up about Rs 500 crore bill towards power consumption in 2016-17 financial year. P&G to Expand Beach Plastics Pilot Program

Procter & Gamble plans to expand the recyclable shampoo pilot program the company launched in June, though the company did not say what’s next on the program’s agenda. P&G announced that by end of 2018, in Europe, more than half a billion bottles per year will include up to 25% post-consumer recycled plastic.
