High Court puts Gujarat wind power auction on hold

The Gujarat High Court has passed an interim order restraining the state from holding its first wind energy auction scheduled for November 1. NTPC searches for buyer for Kadapa Solar Park’s power

Six months after it conducted a solar auction of 250 MW at the Kadapa Solar Park in Andhra Pradesh, NTPC has still not been able to find a buyer for the power the project will produce, people aware of the matter said. All 250 MW at the April auction were won by SolaireDirect, a subsidiary of the French energy giant Engie, quoting a tariff of Rs 3.15 per kWh, which was a record low at the time.

Trai plans 40% reduction in carbon emission by 2022-23

To make the telecom sector greener, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) has recommended 40 per cent reduction in carbon emission in telecom networks by 2022-23 considering 2011-12 as the base year.
