India floats first tender to build solar power projects in Kashmir

India issued a tender on Tuesday to build 7.5-gigawatt of solar power projects in the insurgency hit state of Jammu and Kashmir, state-run Solar Energy Corp. of India said on its website.

Seci invites bids for 2,400 MW renewable energy generation plants

India received $3.2 billion FDI in renewable energy sector over past three years

Solar power industry demands uniform GST rate of 5 per cent

The Solar Power Developer Association (SPDA) has demanded the goods and services tax rate be kept uniform at 5 per cent on solar power generating system (SPGS) saying recent recommendations of the GST Council are inconsistent with the government's policy of promoting clean energy.

Novel powder to help cut CO2 emissions

Scientists have created a novel powder that can capture carbon dioxide emissions from factories and power plants.

The powder, created by researchers at the University of Waterloo in Canada, can filter and remove CO2 at facilities powered by fossil fuels before it is released into the atmosphere and is twice as efficient as conventional methods.

India finalizes bids for setting up over 8,000 MW wind power projects

India's Sterlite wins wind lot in Brazil transmission auction

Indian power transmission developer Sterlite Power has won a lot in Brazil's recent auction for transmission projects that will facilitate the development of Rio Grande do Sul state's wind potential.

Lot 13 represents an investment of about USD 0.6 bllion (EUR 527.4m) over three to five years. It involves the construction of six substations and 316 km (196.35 miles) of transmission lines.
