Delhi government's Indraprastha Power Generation to install 2.5 MV rooftop solar plants

Indraprastha Power Generation (IPGCL), the power generation arm of the Delhi government, is set to install 2.5 mw rooftop solar plants over several state-owned buildings spread across the city. These solar plants are expected to generate enough energy to power 1,500 homes and save Rs 55 lakh through lower electricity bills in buildings where they would be set up. Clarify stand on Ganga encroachments, National Green Tribunal tells Centre and others

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed the Centre and other stakeholders to clarify their stand on demarcation and encroachments on the floodplains of the Ganga from Haridwar to Unnao. Singapore-based renewable energy developer Equis Energy wants to sell its entire India portfolio, comprising green energy platforms Energon and Energon Soleq, two people aware of the development said.

Power ministry to revive stalled hydro projects

Power Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday said that the ministry is doing its job to revive stalled and stressed thermal and hydro power projects, signalling the intent of the government.

Power demand to rise 7% CAGR in 5 year: Central Electricity Authority

Electricity consumption (demand) in the country will grow at 7.1% (CAGR) between FY17 and FY22 and then slow to 6% in the subsequent five years, according to the Central Electricity Authority (CEA).
