Make garbage processing energy plant in Shimla functional by July 15: NGT

Although Shimla has made it to the list of cities selected for the Smart City mission, it is still struggling to ensure “smart” disposal of waste generated on a daily basis. On seeing that the garbage processing plant has not been made functional till date, National Green Tribunal directed the company executing the project to make the plant operational by July 15, failing which it would have to pay Rs one lakh per day as environmental compensation.

Rural Electrification Corporation to raise $300 million selling green bonds

EESL launches UJALA scheme in Amritsar

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) along with Punjab State Power Corporation Limited, launched the UJALA scheme in Amritsar today.

Government benchmarks tariff for Bhadla solar park at Rs 3.43 per unit

The Centre has benchmarked a tariff ceiling of Rs3.43 per unit for upcoming auctions for the solar power park in Bhadla, Rajasthan, in acknowledgement of the steep fall in tariffs in recent tenders.
 
The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has mentioned in the tender document, “it shall enter into power purchase agreement with successful solar power developers for a period of 25 years. Pune sells India’s first municipal bond since 2007 for Smart Cities project

Pune sold $31 million in 10-year bonds on Monday, as cities in Asia’s third-largest economy look to tap investors for the first time in a decade to finance infrastructure projects.

India’s NTPC reaches 845 MW of installed solar capacity following latest commissioning

The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) of India has provided an update of its solar progress, revealing that it now has 845 MW of installed capacity across India.
