Kerala State Electricity Board unveils project to promote electric vehicles

Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has decided to zero in on Mahindra electric cars for its pilot project aimed at popularising battery-run vehicles in the state.

"We have decided to purchase six Mahindra cars worth Rs 9 lakh each. The vehicles will be used for free in-house use at major hospitals and technology parks in major cities in Kerala," KSEB chairman K Ellangovan said.

Malaysia on course to reduce carbon emissions by 40 percent by 2020: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak

Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) camps for new connections from second week of December

Camps to give power connections under the Saubhagya-Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana will be held from the second week of December, said officials of the UP power department. UP targets un-metered power connections; hikes tariff by 63%

In a move to curb un-metered electricity connections, the Uttar Pradesh electricity regulator has raised tariffs for such households by 63% for the current year.
