Indian Government released Rs 509 crore for grid connected, small solar plans as on January 31: Piyush Goyal

12,033 un-electrified villages provided power: Piyush Goyal

As many as 12,033 villages out of 18,452 un-electrified villages have been provided with power till last week and the remaining ones would be electrified by May 2018, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said.

Ranchi to become solar city by year-end

Chief minister Raghubar Das on Wednesday promised to convert the state capital into a solar-powered city and light up 230 tribal villages with solar electricity by 2017.

Supreme Court directs Centre to take steps to preserve over 2 lakh wetlands

Nearly 50MW of Indian rooftop PV tenders across West Bengal and Jammu & Kashmir

West Bengal Renewable Energy Development Agency (WBREDA) has tendered for 10MW of rooftop solar capacity.

The tender is for 1,000 systems, each of 10kW capacity. Intersted parties should bid in batches of 500x10kW systems, according to consultancy firm Mercom Capital Group. Rewa solar project in Madhya Pradesh receives sub Rs 4/unit bids

Indore Municipal Corporation fines IndiGo for littering streets

Indore Municipal Corporation has fined IndiGo Airlines Rs 1,000 for throwing waste on the streets outside the airport. This is perhaps the first time a civic body has fined an airline for littering.

Units to turn waste into power planned in Karnataka
