US-based Evergreen Power in talks to raise $100 mn for India

US-based Evergreen Power is in talks with investors, including private equity, infrastructure funds and strategic investors, to raise up to $100 million in equity to ramp up its wind energy projects in India, its top executive told ET.

The company wants to bring 280 megawatts (MW) of wind energy online in the next 12 months in the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.

Two Solar plants come up in Andamans, to replace 47 MW of diesel-run

Authorities plan to set up Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) power plants in two sites of Andaman and Nicobar Islands is currently underway, a report by ‘The Indian Express’ has said. Government collects Rs 21,129 crore as Clean Environment Cess in Apr-Jan

The government today said an amount of Rs 21,128.59 crore has been collected as Clean Environment Cess from across the country in the April-January period of the ongoing fiscal.

Of the Rs 21,128.59 crore, the component of central excise was Rs 20,285.27 crore and the component of Customs was Rs 843.32 crore, Minister of State for Coal and Power Piyush Goal said in a written reply to Rajya Sabha.... Read more..

Zynergy to set up solar module manufacturing unit at Nellore

Zynergy Solar Products & Services has outlined its move to set up a ₹520 crore solar module and solar cell manufacturing unit in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh.

The Industries and Commerce Department of Andhra Pradesh has extended several benefits to Zynergy, a subsidiary of Alectrona Energy of Chennai. The project entails a ₹110 crore module unit and ₹410 crore cell manufacturing unit.... Read more..

India's solar capacity to cross 20GW in next 15 months: Piyush Goyal

India's solar power generation capacity would cross 20,000 MW in the next 15 months from the current level of 10,000 MW, Power Minister Piyush Goyal said.

"On 10th of March this year the installed solar power capacity in India has crossed 10,000 MW, four times the installed capacity three years back, which in next 15 months would cross 20,000 MW," a Power Ministry statement quoted the minister as saying.... Read more..

Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA), the State nodal agency for promoting renewable energy, is bidding in Tangedco’s tender for procuring 500 MW of solar power.

American solar panel maker First Solar is exploring the sale of almost 190-200 megawatts (MW) of its solar power assets in India, two people aware of the development said.
