GE Power bags orders worth Rs 1,783 crore from NTPC

GE Power India on Wednesday said it has bagged orders worth Rs 1,783 crore from NTPC for installation of air quality control systems at four of its power plants. 

The four power plant projects are Solapur Super Thermal Power Project - 2x660 MW, Tanda Super Thermal Power Project Stage II - 2x660 MW, Feroze Gandhi Unchahar Thermal Power Project -1x500 MW and Meja Thermal Power Project - 2x660 MW by Meja Urja Nigam Private Ltd (a JV of NTPC and UPRVUNL).

Amended solar policy to be out by November-end

The amended solar policy will be notified by the end of November, the electricity department stated at the public hearing held by the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) on Tuesday. 

Consumers and solar developers present at the meeting held at Ravindra Bhavan in Margao said that the government is not doing enough to ensure that more solar power is generated within the state.

Tata Capital plans infrastructure debt fund for green projects

Solar power for all agriculture pumps by 2022, says Maharashtra's energy minister

State Energy Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Wednesday said all agriculture pumps in the state will switch over to solar power by 2022.

“As many as 2,000 public water supply schemes will switch over to solar power this year,” he said, adding that the electricity tariff for commercial and industrial consumers will reduce by Rs 3/unit once the agriculture sector takes to solar power.
