Solar Power Developers Association (SPDA) is pressing for removal of Rs 2.6 per unit tariff to generate adequate response for 1,200 MW hybrid auction.

HRD Institute saves big with solar energy

The Telangana State-run MCR HRD Institute has opted for renewable energy to meet a part of its power needs.

The Institute has completed Phase I of its solar power system, under which it installed a 500 kwp on the roof of the building. The total cost of the project was ₹219 lakh. The Central subsidy, which the Institute will get is approximately ₹50 lakh.

China-based company to supply, run 25 electric buses for Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited

BYD, a China-based company that has an Indian presence, will supply and maintain 25 electric buses for the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML). As many as 125 electric buses are expected to join the PMPML fleet on January 26 next year. The company will supply and operate 25 nine-metre-long buses for the transport utility. Average spot power price up 45% at Rs 5.94 per unit in October; highest ever sales volume in any month

The average power spot prices jumped over 45% to Rs 5.94 per unit in the month of October on the energy exchange from Rs 4.08 per unit in the same month a year ago. According to a statement by Indian Energy Exchange (IEX), coal shortage, higher demand, lower wind and hydropower generation were the key factors that pushed the sales volume to highest ever in any month. Hyderabad water supply board to go solar to run reservoirs

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board has decided to use solar energy to power 56 of its reservoirs (10ml and above) in the city.

Maharashtra government to tax power consumers to finance solar pumps for farmers
