Maharashtra power utility gets additional 1,000 MW cheap solar power

Gujarat auctions 500MW of PV and tenders 175MW in solar parks

Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) has auctioned 500MW of grid-connected solar capacity with winning tariffs in the range of INR2.55-2.66/kWh (US$3.6-3.8 cents). SC seeks Centre's response on using NCEEF for seeder machines for farmers

The Supreme Court has asked the Centre to respond to the plea that a part of Rs 75,000 crore available with it under the National Clean Energy and Environment Fund (NCEEF) be utilised for the purchase of Turbo Happy Seeder machines for farmers for cutting standing paddy stubble as an alternate to stubble burning. The Turbo Happy Seeder machines are mounted on tractors, which cut and lift standing stubble, drill holes in the soil and sows the wheat seeds and deposit straw over the sown area as mulch cover.
