Solar power association wants polluting industries to pay into clean-up fund

A group of solar power developers is proposing the creation of a “climate change fund” that would make big polluters pay to help clean up the environment, a proposal that has found an ally in the Senate energy panel.

Over 31 factories get pollution control board notice in Bjinor, Uttar Pradesh

The Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) has asked 31 factories in Bijnor and Amroha districts to stop discharging the industry waste into the tributaries of the Ganga River ahead of Kartik Purnima, when lakhs of devotees will take a dip into the sacred river.

Trichy to get first food waste to biogas plant

Indore Municipal Corporation, Indore to charge for waste collection

The door-to-door garbage collection would not be a free service any more. The civic body would levy a charge of Rs 2 per day on residential units and Rs 3 per day on commercial establishments.
