Rs 1.2 lakh crore to be spent on oil, gas projects in FY21: GovernmentNEW DELHI: State-owned oil firms plan to spend about Rs 1.2 lakh crore in the fiscal year to March 2021 on oil and gas exploration and production and refineries in a bid to boost economic activity in the nation that has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. As much as Rs 5.88 lakh crore of spending is budgeted for 8,363 projects over the next few years, an official statement said. "Out of the total anticipated cost of these projects, approximately Rs 1.20 lakh crore is targeted to be incurred as capex in FY 2020-21," it said. Mumbai-based firm sets up India’s first manufacturing unit for Li-ion battery componentsNew Delhi: Mumbai-based Epsilon Carbon, a coal tar derivatives company, on Monday said it has commissioned the country’s first manufacturing facility in Karnataka to produce graphite anode materials for lithium-ion batteries (LiB). The firm added that it plans to invest Rs 500 crore over the next five years in the facility that would produce 5,000 tonnes of anode material annually. It plans to triple this capacity to 15,000 tonnes in 2021 and to 50,000 tonnes per annum by 2025. Trial run of electric bus begins in SuratTrial run of an electric bus was carried out in Surat on Monday in presence of municipal commissioner BN Pani, Mayor Dr Jagdish Patel and Standing Committee chairman Anil Goplani.
