New Delhi: A solar industry association on Friday said that the government should postpone the imposition of basic customs duty (BCD) by 18 months to avoid financial burden on already bid out projects of 50 GW capacity. No power tariff hike in Delhi for 2020-21: Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission

New Delhi: The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) on Friday announced it will not hike power tariffs in the city for 2020-21 in view of the coronavirus pandemic. The power regulator also waived 20 per cent surcharge under time of day (ToD) tariff for September to facilitate non-domestic, industrial, public utilities and domestic consumers due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation, the DERC said in a statement. Centre urged to hold back funds to AP discoms until dues cleared

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has urged the central government to not release more funds to Andhra Pradesh from the Rs 90,000 crore discom liquidity package until its existing dues are cleared. Gujarat opens tender for 110 MW of grid-connected solar plants

Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) has invited bids to set up an aggregate 110 MW of grid-connected solar power plants—in sizes ranging from 10 MW to 55 MW—at various substations of Getco in the State of Gujarat. No new thermal power units in state, says Raut

Portugal's solar energy auction breaks record for low power prices, again

LISBON, Aug 26 (Reuters) - Portugal’s latest auction of contracts to build and operate new solar energy capacity set a world record for the lowest price of future output, the Environment Minister Joao Pedro Matos Fernandes said on Wednesday. California approves largest ever utility program to expand EV charging

California on Thursday approved a $437 million effort to build thousands of electric vehicle chargers, its utility regulator said, calling it the nation's largest ever utility program to expand charging infrastructure. Electric cars to account for 79 per cent of lithium demand by 2030: Chile
