WABAG signs ADB funded water supply project in Bhagalpur, Bihar

VA TECH WABAG has signed a contract with Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation for improvement of water supply system in Bhagalpur Municipal Corporation, Bihar. Bhopal: Testing of Bina solar plant for railway begins

Testing of the 1.7 MW solar power plant near Bina station of Bhopal railway division has started and if everything goes well it will be commissioned soon. Shivraj govt announces reduction of electricity bills amid COVID-19 crisis

Solar power generation in India plunges by a third during eclipse

India's solar power generation plunged about a third during the solar eclipse on Sunday. Power grid operators, however, handled the sharp drop and surge in generation during the celestial event, underscoring the country’s ability to manage its growing green energy generation and the impact on the national grid.

Green certificate sales down 55% to 3.33 lakh in May

Sales of renewable energy certificates dropped over 55 per cent to 3.33 lakh units in May compared to 7.5 lakh in the same month a year ago, according to official data. Renewable energy certificate (REC) is a type of market-based instrument. One REC is created when one megawatt hour of electricity is generated from an eligible renewable energy source.

According to official data, a total of 2.78 lakh RECs were traded on the Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) in May, compared to 5.5 lakh in the same month of 2019.

Tata Power to develop 100 MW solar project in Maharashtra

Tata Power on Friday said its wholly-owned arm has bagged a contract to develop a 100 MW solar project in Maharashtra.

"Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has received a letter of award from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co Ltd. (MSEDCL) to develop a 100 MW solar project in Maharashtra," the company said in a filing to BSE.

The energy will be supplied to MSEDCL under a power purchase agreement, valid for a period of 25 years from scheduled commercial operation date.
