Gujarat govt announces hybrid power policy

To boost solar and wind power generation in the state, the Gujarat government has announced a new Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Policy. Energy minister Saurabh Patel and minister of state for energy Pradeepsinh Jadeja told the media that the policy is meant to promote the production of wind and solar power simultaneously. Relief to developers: Government relaxes norms for building solar plants

In a move that might provide some relief to solar power plant developers, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has relaxed time lines for land acquisition, financial closure and the commissioning period for solar projects. Bengaluru international airport could switch to total solar power by 2020
