Tamil Nadu: Govt buildings will soon harness rooftop solar powerAll state government buildings will soon start generating power, once the planned roof top solar systems are installed. An agreement, to facilitate this, was signed here on Thursday between Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA) and Energy Efficiency Services Limited. As per the agreement, TEDA and EESL will act as nodal agencies in establishing solar power generating facilities on top of government buildings. 638 gigawatt of solar power generation capacity added over last decade: UNEPThe world added a mammoth 638 gigawatt (GW) of solar power generation capacity, including both solar photovoltaic and thermal, between 2010 and 2019 -- the largest such addition across renewable energy technologies, according to a report by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
