Directorate general of trade remedies plans public hearing on solar safeguard duty

Ahmedabad 6th among 60 cities in India in plastic waste generation

Amdavadis have a long way to go green and come out from under the shadow of the menacingly rising solid waste mountain Mount Pirana. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) authorities say that of the 3,700-odd metric tonne solid waste generated every day, around 10 to 12% is plastic.

Telangana to replace 4,000 transport vehicles with electric ones: Minister

The Telangana government plans to replace about 4,000 state-run public transport vehicles in Hyderabad, run on diesel, with electric vehicles in a phased manner, state Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao said on Friday.

Ather Energy to to set up 6,500 charging points by 2022, invest Rs 130 cr

Hero MotoCorp-backed electric two-wheeler startup Ather Energy, which will launch its first electric scooter S340 on June 5, has lined up an investment of about Rs 130 crore to set up charging infrastructure in 30 cities by 2022.

Haryana plans to get power and fertiliser from waste

In a bid to meet the national sanitation mission, the Haryana government has hired a private company for segregation, disposal and generation of electricity and fertilisers at the Bandhwari solid waste treatment plant.

The plant has been shutdown for the last four years, leading to serious health problems cropping up in 15 villages around it.

Tata Power partners with Tata Motors to make Maharashtra EV ready

Tata Power today said it has partnered with Tata Motors to make Maharashtra EV ready and to establish electric vehicle charging stations in the state for public use.

Tata Motors has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state to support the Maharashtra Electric Vehicle Policy (2018) in accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles (EV), Tata Power said in a statement.

Power exchange IEX today said - Total of 7.18 lakh renewable energy certificates (RECs) traded in May.

"In the trading session held on May 30 2018, the Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) saw total trade of 7.18 lakh RECs comprising 3.24 lakh non-solar and 3.94 lakh solar RECs," it said in a statement.
