India seeks deferment of annual Indus meeting with Pak due to COVID-19, lockdown

India's has requested Pakistan to defer a meeting between their Indus Commissioners in the wake of coronavirus pandemic, officials said on Thursday. The meeting is scheduled for this week. However, Islamabad is yet to respond to New Delhi's request, offficials added. Indus Commissioners of India and Pakistan are supposed to hold meeting by March 31 every year, according to the Indus Waters Treaty signed between the South Asian neighbours. Power demand dips, discoms’ revenue hit

The demand for power in the country has taken a sharp dip of 20 per cent following a nationwide lockdown. In a letter sent to the PMO on Thursday, the All India Power Engineers’ Federation (AIPEF) said that demand had crashed following a complete shutdown of industrial and commercial units and railways and would affect state power utilities/distribution companies as their major source of income was blocked. COVID-19: Siemens Gamesa shuts factories in India

Siemens Gamesa has closed manufacturing plants in India in response to a three-week government-enforced lockdown across the country to curtail the spread of coronavirus. Blade manufacturing in Nellore and Halol, in Andra Pradesh and Gujarat, respectively, are affected, the company said. Sungrow seals 650-MW solar inverter agreement in India

China’s Sungrow Power Supply Co Ltd (SHE:300274) will supply 650 MW of solar inverters in India under a new strategic agreement with Avaada Energy, it was announced today.
