Morbi ceramic industry faces additional burden of Rs 100 crore due to hike in gas price

A hike in the price of industrial gas by Gujarat Gas Ltd will put an additional burden of over Rs 100 crore per month on ceramic units in Morbi, the country's largest cluster, industry representatives said on Tuesday.

Gujarat Gas, which supplies natural gas to ceramic manufacturing units in Morbi in Gujarat's Saurashtra region, on Monday announced a rise in industrial gas price under its agreement with effect from Tuesday.

ABB expands capacity at Faridabad facility powered by renewable energy

Expanding its current capacity for manufacturing of low voltage motors, ABB has added a new manufacturing line at its Faridabad plant.

The expansion will increase plant capacity by more than 20 per cent and strengthen ABB's presence in the region and global markets.

The company said its Faridabad facility has been at the forefront of promoting sustainable practices and is adopting renewable energy usage and improving energy efficiency across the plant.

Euler Motors bags order for 2,500 units from e-commerce players

Electric vehicle maker Euler Motors on Monday said it has bagged a total order for 2,500 units of its upcoming electric three-wheeler cargo carrier from e-commerce players, including BigBasket and Udaan.

It also includes orders from hyperlocal and business to business (B2B) delivery players for intra-city deliveries.

"The companies will deploy Euler Motors'' EV (electric vehicles) across Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai to transform and strengthen their first, mid and last mile operations," the EV maker said in a statement.

IEX green term-ahead market trades 2,744 MU renewable energy in first year

Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) said on Monday its green term-ahead market cumulatively traded 2,744 million units of renewable energy in its first year comprising of 1,267 MU volume in solar segment and 1,477 MU in non-solar segment.

The market discovered Rs 3.75 per unit as the average price with average solar price at Rs 3.48 per unit and average non-solar price at Rs 4.06 per unit.

"The green market has received an overwhelming response and reached a robust participant base close to 100 in a short span of time," IEX said in a statement.

FM Sitharaman announces Rs 6 lakh crore asset monetisation pipeline

Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Smt Nirmala Sitharaman, today launched the asset monetisation pipeline of Central ministries and public sector entities: ‘National Monetisation Pipeline (NMP Volumes 1 & 2)’. The pipeline has been developed by NITI Aayog, in consultation with infrastructure line ministries, based on the mandate for ‘Asset Monetisation’ under Union Budget 2021-22. NTPC, NLC India, Ayana, and Azure Power Winners in SECI’s 1.2 GW Wind-Solar Hybrid Auction

NTPC Limited, NLC India, Project Ten Renewable Power (Ayana Renewable Power), and Azure Power were declared winners in the Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) auction for 1,200 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects (Tranche-IV) on a build, own, and operate basis across India.

NTPC won a capacity of 450 MW, NLC India (150 MW), and Ayana Renewable (450 MW), each quoting ₹2.34 (~$0.031)/kWh. Azure Power quoted ₹2.35 (~$0.032)/kWh for 300 MW but was only awarded 150 MW under the bucket filling method.

NTPC commissions largest Floating Solar PV Project in the country

The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC ) Ltd, has commissioned the largest floating solar PV project of 25MW on the reservoir of its Simhadri thermal station in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This is also the first solar project to be set up under the Flexibilisation Scheme, notified by the Government of India in 2018.

Charging electric vehicles at KSEB stations to cost Rs 15 per unit

The free charging enjoyed by electric vehicles (EV) owners at Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) charging stations will come to an end in two weeks. It will cost the EV owners Rs 15 per unit.

Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission has given directions to KSEB in this regard. Officials said that customers could charge EVs free of cost on a pilot basis for three months and it was planned to collect payments after that. Govt proposes flexibility to Gencos on 3rd party sale of electricity meant for discoms in default

New Delhi: In yet another reform initiative aimed at streamlining the payment mechanism in the power sector, the power ministry proposes to extend freedom to generating companies to sell power to a third party to the extent of default by discoms and recover their cost.

The Ministry of Power on Thursday circulated draft Electricity (Late Payment Surcharge) amendment Rules, 2021 seeking comments from the stakeholders on its proposals that also aim to reduce the burden of the distribution licensee and help in bringing down the retail tariff for the electricity consumers.

BatteryPool, which offers battery charging solutions for EV fleets and commercial vehicles, on Thursday announced that it has raised an undisclosed amount of growth capital as part of its seed round.

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Modhera village, famous for its Sun Temple, on September 5 and declare it to be the first fully solar powered village of the country. The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has given its approval for ratification of the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer for phase down of Hydroflurocarbons (HFCs) by India, adopted by the Parties to the Montreal Protocol on October, 2016 at 28th Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol held at Kigali, Rwanda.
