Softbank-backed SB Energy singed; pulls maiden $600 million bond after poor investor demand

In a big setback, Softbank and Bharti backed SB Energy’s maiden bond issuance that aimed to raise $600 million from global institutional investors was pulled on Monday, following lukewarm investor response, said five sources aware.

This will also arguably be the 1st renewable bond deal out of India that could not get subscribed even though the portfolio consists of largely Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and NTPC projects, said industry analysts.

Earth Energy EV, an electric vehicles startup, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding in its seed round. The round was led by LR Joshi, managing director of Pranada Bio-Pharma along with other private equity investors.
