India finalises wind-solar hybrid policy

Bids ‘remain aggressive’ in Maharashtra’s 1GW solar auction

The Maharashtra government appeared to be fifth time lucky with its solar auction of 1000 MW held on Monday. While earlier auctions called by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co Ltd (MSEDCL) for the same 1000MW, starting from December last year, were repeatedly undersubscribed and thereafter re-tendered, this time it received bids from eight developers amounting to a total of 1450 MW.

Bid submission date for 5,000 MW solar projects likely to be extended

The date of submission of bids for 5,000 MW inter-state transmission system (ISTS)-based solar projects (2000 MW and 3000 MW capacity) under the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) is likely to be extended by a couple of weeks. A pre-bid meeting decided to issue revised tender documents. The last date for submission of bids for 2,000 MW (8×250 MW) was May 25, while that for 3000 MW (12×250 MW) was June 5.

Cabinet may soon consider FAME-II scheme with Rs 9,381 cr outlay

The second phase of the scheme will be restricted to new energy vehicles used for public transport, commercial purposes and high-speed two-wheelers, officials said.

Maharashtra will give spinning mills subsidies to set up solar power plants

The state government has set up a committee to help cooperative spinning mills and textile units set up solar power plants. Tata Power plans $5 billion push to boost renewable capacity

Kerala and NTPC sign MoU for increasing solar power generation

The Kerala State Electricity Board has signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Thermal Power Corporation for increasing solar power generation in the state.

Solar project developers ask ministry to defer auctions

Solar project developers have urged the ministry of new and renewable energy to postpone auctions, which NTPC and the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) have scheduled for the next few weeks, until transmission issues are sorted out.

NTPC solar auction tariffs hover at Rs. 2.8

Tariffs hovered at Rs 2.79-2.80 per unit at NTPC’s latest auction for 750 MW at Ananthapuram Solar Park in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday, with bidding continuing at the time of going to press.

ReNew Power set to buy 5 renewable power companies

ReNew Power has a combined capacity of 5.6 GW that includes 3.7 GW of operational capacity and another 1.9 GW is in advanced stages of implementation.

No GST concession for solar contractors
