IEX to commence trade in Energy Saving Certificates

The Indian Energy Exchange (IEX), India’s premier energy trading platform, will commence trade in Energy Saving Certificates (ESCerts) under Perform, Achieve and Trade Cycle-II (PAT-II) scheme, the company said on Tuesday. The trading on the exchange will happen once a week every Tuesday. PAT-II aims at achieving overall energy savings of 8.87 MTOE (million metric tonnes of oil equivalent) and covers 621 designated consumers spanning across 11 energy intensive industry sectors. First in State, Pune ZP implements water schemes based on solar energy

Majority of the villages in Pune district have tap water and public water distribution system. But loadshedding or pending electricity bills hamper the water distribution. Thus, Pune Zilla Parishad has decided to switch over to Solar energy to pump over 1, 191 water pumps in various villages. Ahead of COP26 summit China releases action plan to peak carbon dioxide emissions before 2030

China, the world’s largest greenhouse gas producer, on Tuesday released an ambitious action plan to peak carbon dioxide emissions before 2030, according to which the share of non-fossil energy consumption will be about 25 per cent and carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP will drop by more than 65 per cent compared to 2005 levels. PXIL to launch ESCerts trading from Tuesday

The Power Exchange India (PXIL) on Monday said trading of ESCerts under the Perform, Achieve and Trade (PAT) scheme - cycle II will commence from October 26. The company had conducted a mock trading session on October 8, 2021, which received encouraging reception, PXIL said in a statement. 'ESCerts' are the Energy Savings Certificates issued by the Central Government in the Ministry of Power to the Designated Consumer under sub-section (1) of section 14 (A) of Energy Conservation Act, 2001. Jharkhand govt focuses on solar-based irrigation projects
