SEBI mulls disclosure norms for MF ESG schemes, seeks public comments

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) is considering introducing a disclosure and investment framework for mutual fund (MF) environment, sustainability and governance (ESG) schemes. In a discussion paper floated on Tuesday, the market regulator has sought public comments on various issues pertaining to ESG investments. “Whether responsible investment policy should be revised to contain a clause that from October 1, 2022, AMCs shall only invest in securities which have business responsibility and sustainability report (BRSR) disclosures?,” the regulator has asked. IEX to commence trade in Energy Saving Certificates

The Indian Energy Exchange (IEX), India’s premier energy trading platform, will commence trade in Energy Saving Certificates (ESCerts) under Perform, Achieve and Trade Cycle-II (PAT-II) scheme, the company said on Tuesday. The trading on the exchange will happen once a week every Tuesday. PAT-II aims at achieving overall energy savings of 8.87 MTOE (million metric tonnes of oil equivalent) and covers 621 designated consumers spanning across 11 energy intensive industry sectors. First in State, Pune ZP implements water schemes based on solar energy

Majority of the villages in Pune district have tap water and public water distribution system. But loadshedding or pending electricity bills hamper the water distribution. Thus, Pune Zilla Parishad has decided to switch over to Solar energy to pump over 1, 191 water pumps in various villages. Singapore to launch standards for renewable energy certificates - minister

Singapore plans to launch a set of standardized guidelines for renewable energy certificates (RECs) in efforts to decarbonise its power sector and develop a regional grid, a minister said on Tuesday. "These guidelines will help support renewable energy deployment in Singapore and in the region, supporting the development of a regional grid that taps different types of low carbon energy sources in the region," Tan See Leng, Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry said at the Asian Clean Energy Summit.

Ahead of COP26 summit China releases action plan to peak carbon dioxide emissions before 2030

China, the world’s largest greenhouse gas producer, on Tuesday released an ambitious action plan to peak carbon dioxide emissions before 2030, according to which the share of non-fossil energy consumption will be about 25 per cent and carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP will drop by more than 65 per cent compared to 2005 levels. PXIL to launch ESCerts trading from Tuesday

The Power Exchange India (PXIL) on Monday said trading of ESCerts under the Perform, Achieve and Trade (PAT) scheme - cycle II will commence from October 26. The company had conducted a mock trading session on October 8, 2021, which received encouraging reception, PXIL said in a statement. Gadkari bats for green hydrogen; says India needs to reduce oil imports

Jharkhand govt focuses on solar-based irrigation projects

Kerala CM to inaugurate CIAL's hydro power project at Kozhikode

The Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL), which is world's first fully solar powered airport, has now ventured into hydro power production and plans to provide power from its plant at Arippara near Kozhikode to the KSEB from November first week. GAIL seeks to procure India's largest Hydrogen electrolyser

GAIL (India) is in the process of procuring what could be the largest Hydrogen electrolyser in India.
