KP Energy and GE sign pact for 300 MW wind power project in Gujarat
Renewable energy developer KP Energy today announced it has signed an agreement with GE India, the local arm of the American industrial conglomerate, to set up a 300 Megawatt (Mw) wind power project at Kutch in Gujarat.
The project would use 120 wind turbine generators of 2.5 Mw capacity each and is likely to be commissioned in September next year. “The project will be connected with the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) network in Kutch. This is in furtherance to the Term Sheet Agreement signed between the parties,” the company said in a statement.
KP Energy has undertaken development activities for the project including resource mobilization, lands and permits acquisition, statutory approvals and route surveys and has so far received milestone payments of Rs 28.45 crore towards the above progress.
The company provides solutions for wind power projects including land and permits acquisition, Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of Balance of Plant equipment of utility scale wind farms.
KP Energy’s wind projects of total 1,200 Mw capacity are at various stages of implementation. The company became an Independent Power Producer (IPP) in the wind energy sector with own generating assets of 8.40 Mw commissioned in 2016-17.
