Himachal Pradesh offering land at Re 1/sq.m for renewable projects
Himachal Pradesh is offering land at a rate of Re 1 per square metre to woo investors to set up renewable energy projects in the state, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said on Thursday.
Speaking at an event called "2nd Global Re-invest India-ISA Partnership," Thakur said that the state allows for deferred royalty payment, and that the state electricity board would buy power directly from renewable projects.
Uttar Pradesh Minister of Additional Energy Resources, Brajesh Pathak, said: "Our government has provided for single-window clearance for rooftop solar projects. We have also provided a 100 per cent stamp duty exemption on land bought for setting up solar plants in the state."
