The 2nd edition of Save Power Show, Kerala’s only exhibition on renewable energy launched.

- Over 150 Renewable Energy Companies from all over India, under one roof

- Exclusive trade promotional platform for the Kerala Renewable Energy market

After the overwhelming response to the first edition, Save Power Show’s second edition is launched by Shri. Aryadan Mohammed, Hon’ble Minister for Power and Transport - Government of Kerala

The second edition of Save Power Show –SPS 2014 will be held on 1st – 3rd February 2014 at CIAL Trade and Exhibition Centre, Cochin. This will be Kerala’s biggest Renewable Energy platform, showcasing more than 150 Renewable Energy companies from all over India under one roof. Save Power Show works like a catalyst for the growth of Renewable Energy in Kerala, by facilitating networking between the buyers looking for Renewable Energy Solution and the leading Renewable Energy Solution providers of our country.

To stimulate growth in all renewable energy segment, the exhibition will aims at having an ideal mix of exhibitors from Solar, Wind, Hybrid, Small Hydro, Biomass, Biogas and Waste to Energy segments, offering solutions for all categories of buyers, from an Individual house hold to Utility scale projects.

Kerala has been experiencing acute power shortage due to the increased demand for electricity. The per capita power consumption in Kerala has shown a significant increase in view of industrialization and increased usage of electrical household appliances. The demand for power is increasing by around 10 per cent annually. To meet the demand, the board has to buy power from outside at much higher tariff.

Going forward, against the present demand of more than 3200 MW, Kerala would require around 6000 MW of electricity by 2020-21. At present, no major hydro electric projects are in execution stage for meeting the increasing demand. Also non-availability of transmission corridors is a constraint for further import of Power even if it is available from outside state. The need for additional source of power generation is badly felt to fill the gap between generation capacity and energy availability. The Kerala Renewable energy market is at a nascent stage, but has a huge untapped Renewable Energy potential. In past few months, Government of Kerala has taken initiatives to promote generation and usage of Renewable Energy. Save Power Show 2013 complements these initiatives by creating a platform with-in Kerala to facilitate the buyers to seek the latest products and innovative solutions from all over India under one roof. Solar Energy has maximum growth potential in Kerala and the same is evident from the Draft Kerala Solar Energy Policy 2013, which has been released for comments by the stakeholders. 10,000 Rooftop Solar Power Plant Programme launched by ANERT with MNRE, where the beneficiaries are getting more than 50% subsidy, was the most successful rooftop program in our country and now the same model is being followed by other states.

Renewable Energy being a sunrise industry in Kerala, Save Power Show 2013 will take necessary precautions to make sure only serious, established, and genuine and MNRE approved companies participate in the exhibition. This will help the consumers and dealers to meet right companies on SPS 2013.

"Renewable Energy in Kerala has just taken off and it has a long way to go. For a sustainable growth it is very important to have a state wide awareness and involvement. The 1st Save Power Show was an excellent beginning as it showcased leading companies from all over India and I am glad to know that the 2nd Save Power Show is getting bigger and better.” - Shri. Aryadan Mohammed Hon’ble Union Minister for Power and Transport - Government of Kerala.

“The need for additional source of power generation is badly felt to fill the gap between generation capacity and energy availability. The government is targeting to set up a string of Wind Energy Parks, Solar Parks and Small Hydro-Power Stations to solve their energy shortage problem. Save Power Show is poised to provide an excellent networking and knowledge sharing platform for the stakeholders in Renewable Energy Sector.” - Shri. P. V. Jose Convenor - Save Power Show

“Save Power Show is conceptualized and designed to bring all the forces together and create an excellent networking and knowledge sharing platform for the stakeholders in Renewable Energy Sector. Save Power Show will showcase Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Products and Solutions under one roof to enable the visitors to acquire knowledge and information about the latest technology and the best solutions for their energy requirement, facilitating the transition of Kerala from Energy Crisis to Energy Security.”- Shri.
