3rd Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Summit 2019

SDGs urge business practices worldwide, to align their operations with holistic sustainable initiatives. India’s landmark CSR Regulation has many thematic overlaps with the SDGs and thus, India is in a unique position to systematically channel its CSR towards SDGs. UN Global Compact Network India is organizing its second SDGs Summit on the crucial theme of “New Directions of CSR to achieve SDGs” to provide a platform for insightful discussion on how CSR can be integrated with the SDGs.

The intent of the SDGs Summit 2019 is to assess the impact created by business organizations in India through their CSR activities to achieve SDGs. This is focused on immediate and effective action including channelizing/prioritizing CSR effort and leveraging existing partnerships for activities on SDGs. In this regard, the summit will focus on (I) current aspects and avenues in CSR which can increase the momentum of change and steer them towards attaining SDGs, (ii) exploring the role of private and public sector in realizing the relation between CSR and SDGs and effectively converting/converging it into action and (iii) looking for new and innovative financial instruments to achieve SDGs.
